The Pet Bottle Vertical Garden

As part of a tv show which help boost the quality of life of poor families, Brazilian architectural design firm Rosenbaum have transformed an underprivileged family’s house and lives.   Living on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, a mother and her two daughters who all share a room longed for more space, more security and some sort of garden.  Rosenbaum redesigned the their home giving everyone their own space and decorated the back courtyard with pots and a vertical garden of recycled plastic bottles filled with flowers spices & herbs.  The bottles are a very cost effective and not only serve a decorative function, but over time will bring real benefits to the family.  For more images of this amazing transformation and a look at what the architects achieved inside go here.

After the show aired, the response was so big the creators decided to put a DIY tutorial on their website.  To have a go for yourself see here.
